Dot To Dot Digital Image specialises in digital print packaging and creative print solutions. Since our establishment, we have focused entirely on digital printing. We do not see ourselves as just a printing company. We consider ourselves a technology company that uses innovation to solve challenges and create new possibilities in the print industry. Our approach has always been simple: we want to do things differently and create applications that go beyond what traditional printing can achieve.
Our strength comes from continuously challenging the limits of digital printing. Many people see digital printing mainly as a solution for fast production and small volumes. However, we believe digital printing can achieve much more. It can create premium, creative, and highly unique applications when combined with the right technology and mindset. Rather than trying to compete directly with traditional printing, we focus on exploring what digital printing can do that others cannot.
Our philosophy is to do things that people normally would not attempt. That mindset has allowed us to create many unique projects and continue leading in the digital print industry.
The project came with several challenges. It was a last-minute request from the customer with a very tight timeline. The production volume was also very small, around 100 to 200 pieces. If this project was produced using traditional offset printing, the cost would have been very high because of the many processes involved. The challenge was not only to complete the project quickly but also to achieve premium quality with unique finishing effects. With digital printing, we were able to overcome these challenges and deliver the result within a short timeframe while maintaining the required quality.
Konica Minolta’s digital printing technology played an important role in helping us achieve the final result. Digital printing provided advantages in several areas, especially colour reproduction and finishing capabilities. Compared to conventional printing methods, digital printing offers a wider colour gamut, allowing us to achieve more vibrant colours. The digital embellishment capabilities, such as digital varnish, also helped create special textures and visual effects that are difficult to achieve through traditional methods. For short-run projects involving premium finishing and complex requirements, digital technology gives us the flexibility to create results that would otherwise be difficult or too costly.
Traditional printing still has its strengths, especially for large-volume production where standardisation is important. However, digital printing provides greater flexibility, especially for customised, short-run, and highly creative applications. For this project, elements such as digital embellishment, colour vibrancy, and cost efficiency for small quantities would have been very challenging using conventional methods. Digital technology allows us to experiment, innovate, and create something different without being limited by traditional production processes
Winning this award represents recognition that our approach to digital printing is moving in the right direction. It shows that digital printing is not only about speed or producing small quantities. Digital printing can also create premium, artistic, and award-winning results. The recognition also motivates us to continue investing in new technologies, exploring new applications, and helping customers achieve ideas that were previously difficult to realise.
Our mission is to continue leading rather than following. Technology continues to evolve, especially with developments such as AI and automation. To remain relevant, we must continue improving, learning, and exploring new possibilities.
